I started decorative painting in 1973. A year later I started teaching a few family members and gradually built up to 5 to 6 classes per week. In the 80's I met Lynne Deptula and soon we formed our partnership 'Distinctive Brushstrokes'. For the first ten years, we painted mainly for art shows and teaching at conventions. In 1994 we started designing pattern packets and books. We have published 25 books and several hundred pattern packets. We are currently working on a new series of books - - Lessons in different techniques. The first two books will be showcased at the Las Vegas Convention. I live in Rockford, MI with my husband Dave. We have three children and five grandchildren. I have been blessed with he opportunities to travel and teach throughout the United States and Canada. I have made so many special friends through decorative painting. I am looking forward to meeting and making new friends in Oregon. |
